Being exposed to barbershop, showtunes and Black Sabbath, all at an early age, and loving them all; has lead Eric Johnson to create an eclectic montage of styles on his new release, Perpetual Notion. Having spent many years performing in well rehearsed choirs growing up, and moving on to musical theatre and advanced vocal lessons and choir by high school, eric j has a full bodied appreciation for all styles of music.

He began singing in rock bands as a young adult. Many different combinations led to Eric fronting, as lead singer, the progressive metal bands Prophet and Uglyasin.

Songwriting started in earnest the minute Eric had a guitar and a couple of chords under his belt. Having written over 300 songs to date, Eric J is happy to share some of his favorites with you.

That first guitar opened the door to a world of stringed instruments and a few with keys that Eric plays now.

Which brings us back to Eric’s new release, Perpetual Notion, an instrumental CD with fourteen tracks. Perpetual Notion demonstrates an exciting blend of styles as it weaves a tapestry of Americana influences.

Eric J has several new projects currently being produced, including a roots rock vocal based CD and another instrumental release.
